Recipe Story

I went to pick some apples with my friend. I wanted to make some dessert with apples. I searched for the recipes and I got this recipe in one of the books. It came out moist and nice. Me and my husband loved it.

3 tbsp softened butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt (I didn't add)
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (I added 1/4 tsp)
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg (I added 1/4 tsp)
3 cups peeled and chopped apples
1/4 cup walnuts
whipped cream or ice cream (optional)

In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in egg and vanilla.
Combine the flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Add to creamed mixture. (Batter will be thick and sticky)
Stir in apples and nuts. Mix well.
Spread into a greased baking dish.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes or until a toothpich inserted in the center comes out clean. (For me it took 45 minutes)
Serve warm or cold, with or without ice cream.
